Jenn is a Gestalt Counsellor, has worked in further education institution and currently a counsellor at an LGBTQIA+ organisation in London. Jenn has experience of working with people from varying backgrounds, cultures, genders, and sexualities.
Prior to training as a counsellor Jenn worked as a facilitator in various community settings with organisations working with the homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, women who have experienced abuse, street drinkers, young people with and without disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ community, using creativity to support and explore possibilities of change. This work has stretched across schools, youth clubs, hostels, day centres, night shelters and prisons. Jenn has ran workshops to develop self-esteem, confidence, to speak in public and explore feelings of dysphoria, displacement and being marginalised.
Jenn brings creativity into her work as a counsellor to support people to raise their awareness, with an understanding due to barriers of language talking can become challenging so she can provide a space to support a person to express themselves in other ways if they choose to.
Jenn is a Buddhist, this she feels connects to her values and humanistic approach rooted within Gestalt Counselling, treating each person with respect, equality, being non-judgemental and embracing. She writes poetry, to explore how humanistic values are at the core of all life, questioning within her work how we can transform. Jenn believes everyone has the potential to change, to become their authentic self, if they choose to, this is at the heart of her counselling.
Jenn is registered member of the BACP, has a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling, a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation and a BA Honours in Drama, film, and television.
