Lola is a qualified Psychotherapist and Psychodynamic Counsellor who is dedicated to working with vulnerable adults. She has extensive experience working with people that have complex mental health issues, including those suffering from anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and transgenerational trauma. Lola also has a wide variety of experience working with people on the margins of society, including members of the refugee community, ex-offenders, and those in the care system.
Lola works as a counsellor in a London university where her clients have encompassed adults from a wide range of national, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Lola is a Trustee of the charity Trailblazers Mentoring whose purpose is to support young male ex-offenders reintegrate into society by helping them cope with the practicalities of day-to-day living and with their mental health. She is also a mentor at The Prince’s Trust where she offers support to vulnerable young people who want to turn their life around.
Lola has twenty years of experience in senior management roles in higher and further education where she has explored her passion for helping people from diverse backgrounds. She has extensive experience in working with people that have suffered exclusion from the educational system or who have experienced trauma during their formative years. Lola has an MA and a BA from the creative arts and often finds value in using her creative thinking in her clinical practice.
