Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)
Chris is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and has worked within the field of mental health for over 16 years. He uses a balance of approaches including Person Centred, Cognitive, Behavioural and Short-Term Psychodynamic therapies.
His current work includes counselling within a GP practice at Imperial College London. Chris works with students, staff and local residents presenting with issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties.
Prior to training as a counsellor, Chris worked within a central London day centre for homeless people supporting and assessing clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds often presenting with complex, traumatic and sometimes violent personal histories.
Chris believes that with a good therapeutic relationship and the focus and activity of both therapist and patient, unhelpful patterns of behaviour can be identified and worked through. This can create the opportunity for longer-term change and the development of a more positive approach to life’s challenges.
