Dr Roni Mermelshtine is a developmental psychologist and associate lecturer in child development at Birkbeck, University of London. Roni has extensive experience of conducting applied psychological research in academia, the private and third sectors. Roni currently provides consultative services in psychometrics and organisational behaviour.
Having been a senior psychometrics manager in an HR technology company, Roni has wide-ranging theoretical and practical experience in the field of occupational psychology. Roni’s areas of expertise are team dynamics, organisational culture, personality and individual differences, supervision and project management.
Volunteering at a homeless charity, Roni utilises her research skills, and her knowledge of the recruitment process. Roni undertakes service evaluations and works with customers who wish to gain employment on a one-to-one basis. Roni helps customers navigate different aspects of the job application process, taking an empathic, strengths-based approach.
As part of her professional development, Roni is currently undertaking training in psychodynamic counselling skills. Roni believes that for individuals and teams to thrive, it is necessary to promote a culture of psychological safety in which non-judgement and compassion are fostered.
